HOUSTON — The Detroit Tigers are heading into the Wild Card Series with an 11-man pitching staff.

The Tigers announced Tuesday morning that right-handers Kenta Maeda and Keider Montero would be left off the postseason roster. The rest of the end-of-season roster, including all the position players, remains intact.

This is the 26-man roster for the first round of the playoffs that begin Tuesday at 2:32 p.m. Eastern time against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park.

PITCHERS (12): Beau Brieske, Jason Foley, Sean Guenther, Brenan Hanifee, Tyler Holton, Brant Hurter, Jackson Jobe, Ty Madden, Casey Mize, Reese Olson, Tarik Skubal, Will Vest.

POSITION PLAYERS (14): Kerry Carpenter, Dillon Dingler, Riley Greene, Andy Ibáñez, Jace Jung, Colt Keith, Justyn-Henry Malloy, Zach McKinstry, Parker Meadows, Wenceel Pérez, Jake Rogers, Trey Sweeney, Spencer Torkelson, Matt Vierling.

Maeda threw 89 threw 89 pitches in the regular-season finale on Sunday, and Montero followed with 56 pitches in relief, so their exclusion is not a major surprise.

Both pitchers could be added back to the roster for subsequent rounds if the Tigers advance. They are still with the team and will watch the games from the dugout.

The Tigers are also carrying two taxi squad players in the event of an injury: Infielder Ryan Kreidler and catcher Liam Hicks.

This story will be updated.
